Dr. Gene Brown, MD, is a distinguished otolaryngologist at Charleston ENT & Allergy in Charleston, SC, where he serves as a practicing otolaryngologist and the CEO of the 32-physician practice. Driven by his dual commitment to exceptional patient care and passionate physician advocacy, Dr. Brown founded OASIS, a grassroots organization that provides vital support and networking opportunities for otolaryngologists throughout the region. His dedication to advancing the specialty has positioned him as a prominent leader at both state and national levels. During his four-year tenure as President of The South Carolina Otolaryngology Society, he championed initiatives that strengthened the profession's voice and influence. This commitment to protecting and elevating otolaryngology naturally led to his extensive involvement with the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, where he has distinguished himself through service in numerous leadership capacities. His currently serves as President of the AAO-HNS which represents the culmination of his advocacy efforts, providing him with an unprecedented platform to support, advance, and expand the specialty he has dedicated his career to serving.
