Hakan Birkent, MD, Prof. is from Liv Hospital Vadistanbul, Istanbul, Türkiye. His clinical practice is focused on laryngology and particularly gender-affirming voice surgery. He is the inventor of "Tensioning Glottoplasty", a novel surgical technique for voice feminization, and has authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications indexed in the international medical literature. Dr. Birkent is a founding member of the International Association of Trans Voice Surgeons, and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, the European Laryngological Society, and the Union of European Phoniatricians.
