This panel will provide a comprehensive, evidence-based review of intracapsular and total tonsillectomy in children. Panelists will compare outcomes between techniques, including efficacy, complications, and revision rates, and discuss perioperative strategies to guide surgical decision making. Areas of uncertainty, controversy, and case-based experiences will supplement the discussion, equipping clinicians with practical insights for selecting the most appropriate tonsillectomy approach for pediatric patients.

Recognize the evidence on pediatric intracapsular tonsillectomy outcomes including recent updates and areas of ongoing investigation.
Compare and contrast intracapsular and extracapsular tonsillectomy in regard to patient selection, caregiver counseling, and perioperative management.
