This panel discussion, sponsored jointly by the American Thyroid Association and AAO-HNS Endocrine Surgery Committee, will provide an overview of the most impactful changes introduced in the 2025 ATA guidelines on the management of adult patients with differentiated thyroid cancer. Areas where recommendations differ meaningfully from prior versions of the guidelines will be highlighted. Through case-based discussion, an expert multidisciplinary panel, with surgeons and endocrinologists who served as co-authors of the guidelines, will address how they should be applied in clinical practice.

Learning Objectives:

Describe key updates in 2025 ATA guidelines for the surgical management of DTC, including in recommended extent of surgery and incorporation of molecular diagnostics into clinical decision-making
Demonstrate an understanding of the possible roles of active surveillance and thermal ablation in the management of low-risk DTC
Apply updated risk stratification and postoperative management recommendations to optimize oncologic outcomes
