From this session attendee can expect a global perspective on the application of ultrasound guided interventions in the head and neck region. There will be a breadth of potential applications discussed including the thyroid gland, parotid gland, thyroglossal duct cysts utilizing a range of methods for interventions. Finally we will also discuss the potential pitfalls and complications that may arise from these interventions.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion, participant will be able to appreciate that the ultrasound acts as an important imaging modality both as a diagnostic and interventional tool in the head and neck region, while also appreciating that there are significant differences in its application across the globe.
Upon completion, participant will be able to appreciate the application of ultrasound guided interventions of the parotid gland, thyroid gland, thyroglossal duct cysts including the use of RFA, Microwave and ethanol ablation for selected tumors, metastatic disease and disease recurrences.
Upon completion, participant will be able to appreciate the pitfalls and potential complications arising from the application of ultrasound guided interventions of the head and neck region.
