Kelly Michele Malloy, MD, MBA, FACS is a head and neck surgical oncologist at the University of Michigan where she is professor of otolaryngology- head and neck surgery and chief clinical officer for Michigan Medicine, the academic medical center of University of Michigan Health. Dr. Malloy's clinical work focuses on the comprehensive surgical management of patients with head and neck malignancies, with additional expertise in head and neck melanoma and advanced cutaneous oncology. Her primary research interest is in surgical education, specifically in applications of simulation in otolaryngology; she is a past chair of the Simulation Education Committee of the American Academy of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery and is recognized nationally for her leadership in adopting new technologies to surgical education. Dr. Malloy is the immediate past director of the head and neck surgical oncology and microvascular reconstruction fellowship at Michigan, serving for nearly a decade in this role. In addition to her physician executive role, she serves as the finance officer and Endowment chair for the Women in Otolaryngology Section of the AAO-HNSF.
Dr. Malloy is a physician executive with over a decade of experience in hospital and health system leadership. As chief clinical officer, she has extensive operations, finance, patient experience, quality, safety, policy, and governance responsibility. She works collaboratively with department chairs and other medical school leaders on physician and APP support/resourcing and workforce planning and has a reputation for being a trusted partner and program builder. Prior to this role, she served as the associate chief clinical officer for surgical and rehabilitation services for Michigan Medicine. She has an outstanding local and national reputation as a strategic leader. She completed her executive MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
