David Z. Allen, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at New York Medical College. His clinical interests include head and neck endocrine surgery, thyroid and parathyroid disease, thyroid cancer, and general head and neck surgical oncology. He completed advanced fellowship training in head and neck endocrine surgery at Emory University, where he focused on complex thyroid, parathyroid, and head and neck oncologic surgery.
Dr. Allen’s academic work centers on thyroid and head and neck cancer outcomes, endocrine surgery, cancer care access, health disparities, and population-level analyses using national datasets. He has published and presented research on thyroid and head and neck cancer epidemiology, surgical outcomes, clinical trial access, and socioeconomic determinants of care. In addition to his clinical and research work, he is committed to medical education, mentorship, and improving access to high-quality surgical care for patients with endocrine and head and neck disease.
