William Z. Gao, MD is a laryngologist, Associate Professor of Surgery, and Co-Director of the UChicago Voice & Swallowing Center at the University of Chicago. He is a graduate of the Penn State-Jefferson Medical College accelerated premedical-medical (BS/MD) program. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Georgetown University and completed a fellowship in laryngology and care of the professional voice at the USC Voice Center.
He currently serves as chair of the American Laryngological Association (ALA) Post-Graduate Steering Committee. His passion for laryngology education is reflected in his contributions on the AAO-HNS Laryngology-Bronchoesophagology Education Committee as well as co-founding Stroboscopy.org, an open access online atlas for learning videostroboscopic evaluation of laryngeal pathology.
