Mishek Thapa is a fourth-year medical student at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, drawn to otolaryngology to restore the essential abilities of breathing, hearing, and speaking. His research with the UCLA Head and Neck Surgery department focuses on surgical outcomes, disease patterns, and disparities in access to otolaryngologic care. Outside of his research, he is committed to serving underserved communities and improving access to care across Los Angeles. He is involved in mentorship and community organizations on campus, enjoys climbing and the outdoors, and hopes to spend his career as a head and neck surgeon.
