Karen A. Rizzo, MD, FACS is the founding physician for Lancaster Ear, Nose, & Throat, LLC in Lancaster Pennsylvania. She manages a 2 physician, 1 nurse practitioner, and 2 audiologist group. She is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Villanova University where she was a 4 year starter on the Women's basketball team , an Academic All American, and inductee into their Hall of Fame. She was awarded the Alumni Medallion in 2008 from the College of Arts and Sciences. She attended Temple University Medical School and completed her otolaryngology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. She has been practiciing Comprehensive Otolaryngolgy in Lancaster , Pa. for 36 years. She was inducted into the Big Five and Pennsylvania Northeast Chapter Sports Hall of Fame. She has been a division chief at Lancaster General Hospital, President of the county medical society, and President of the Pennsylvania Academy of Otolaryngolgy/Head and Neck Surgery. She won its Distinguished Service award as well. She was President of the Pennsylvania Medical Society in 2015 where she was a dedicated advocate for physicians. She currently is the Chair of the Women's Physician Section of PAMED. Dr. Rizzo has served on the Board of Governors for the AAO for over 15 years and is the current Governor for Pennsylvania. She is a Past Chair of the BOG. She has served as Vice Chair of the Legislative Committee, a Regional Rep, and member of the WIO Endowment Committee, and the Nominating Committee. She is on the AAO Board as an AT Large Director representing private practice. She continues to serve as a dedicated physician, patient, and practice advocate and continues to strive to support the highest standards in the practice of Otolaryngolgy.
