Adam Kaufman, MD, PhD, is an assistant professor in the department of otolaryngology at the University of Maryland Baltimore. He completed his residency in otolaryngology at the University of Pennsylvania and continued his training with a neurotology fellowship at Stanford University. Along with a busy clinical practice managing patients with chronic otitis media, he runs a laboratory devoted to better understanding mucosal defense of the middle ear against the development of biofilms in chronic otitis media.
