Jessica Cruz Pérez, MD, is a Master’s student in Health Sciences at the National Institute of Respiratory Diseases (INER) and the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) in Mexico City, Mexico, and serves as a Research Assistant in the Departments of Infectious Diseases and Otolaryngology at INER. Her research focuses on respiratory diseases, with particular interests in primary ciliary dyskinesia, chronic airway infections, and otolaryngologic manifestations of respiratory disorders. Her current thesis investigates the clinical, genetic, and microbiological characteristics associated with otolaryngologic disease burden in a longitudinal cohort of patients with primary ciliary dyskinesia. She is currently participating in the Humboldt Internship Program at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, where she works on computational modeling and systems medicine approaches for precision medicine. Dr. Cruz Pérez has presented her research at national and international scientific meetings and has received recognition for her contributions to clinical and translational research.
