Amanda Chiao, AuD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor, Chief of Audiology, and the Director of the Pediatrics and Equity in Audiology Research Laboratory in the Department of Surgery at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center El Paso. Dr. Chiao is also board-certified in pediatric audiology and a practicing audiologist at El Paso Children’s Hospital. Dr. Chiao conducts research on substance misuse-related otologic conditions, the psychosocial impact of vestibular loss in children, and resolving pediatric otologic health gaps along the US-Mexico border. Her research and clinical initiatives have been funded by the NIH National Institute of Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology and the Toyota Way Forward Foundation.
