National Cancer Institute, Artificial Intelligence Resource
Rikhil Makwana is a 4th year medical student at Chicago Medical School. He has an interest in applying Machine Learning and AI to solve complex clinical programs and spent a year at the National Institute of Health as a member of Dr. Baris Turkbey's lab where I developed automated deep learning systems for the automated detection of head and neck squamous cell cancers. Using this deep learning framework, we were able to build machine learning models to predict HPV status from OPSCC, disease recurrence, and monitor treatment response by volume over time.
