Felipe Porto-Gutiérrez, MD, is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School, and a student in the MPH in Clinical Effectiveness at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Porto-Gutiérrez has research interests in head and neck surgical oncology, outcomes research, clinical epidemiology, and health services research. His work focuses on leveraging large national databases to evaluate treatment patterns, quality of care, healthcare disparities, and oncologic outcomes in patients with head and neck cancer. He has authored and presented research at national and international meetings, with projects investigating transoral robotic surgery, sentinel lymph node biopsy, laryngeal cancer, and predictive models for occult nodal metastasis. His long-term career goal is to become an academic head and neck surgeon-scientist, integrating clinical practice, translational research, and data-driven approaches to improve patient care and advance evidence-based surgical oncology.
