Abdulsalam Alqutub, MBBS, is an Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery resident at King Abdullah Medical City in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. He graduated with first-class honors from King Abdulaziz University and has developed a strong interest in academic otolaryngology, evidence-based medicine, and clinical research.
Since publishing his first research paper in 2023, Dr. Alqutub has contributed to more than 30 peer-reviewed publications across several areas of otolaryngology, including rhinology, otology, pediatric otolaryngology, and head and neck surgery. His research experience includes systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and prospective clinical research, and he has presented his work at national and international scientific meetings.
Alongside his residency training, Dr. Alqutub has pursued international clinical and academic experiences, including observerships in Canada, where he developed ongoing research collaborations with faculty in otolaryngology. His current research interests include clinical outcomes research, evidence synthesis, and the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning to otologic and audiological disorders.
His long-term goal is to become a surgeon-scientist and academic otolaryngologist, combining clinical and surgical practice with research, mentorship, and medical education. He hopes to contribute to advancing academic otolaryngology in Saudi Arabia through collaborative research, innovation, and the development of future trainees.
