Dr. Abie Mendelsohn, MD, FACS, is a american otolarynogology-head and neck surgery board-certified otolaryngologist–head and neck surgeon and fellowship-trained laryngologist with advanced expertise in voice, airway, swallowing, endocrine, and gender-affirming head and neck care. He completed his medical degree, general surgery internship, otolaryngology residency, and laryngology fellowship at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, followed by additional fellowship training in laser and robotic surgery at the University of Louvain in Belgium.
Dr. Mendelsohn has held academic appointments at UCLA and has contributed extensively to clinical research, education, and surgical innovation in otolaryngology. His clinical practice includes comprehensive care for voice disorders, airway stenosis, swallowing dysfunction, thyroid and salivary gland disease, sleep apnea, and complex head and neck conditions. He also has substantial experience in gender-affirming voice and airway procedures, including vocal feminization surgery, vocal masculinization care, and endoscopic chondrolaryngoplasty.
In addition to maintaining a busy surgical and office-based ENT practice, Dr. Mendelsohn serves as an on-call otolaryngologist for regional trauma centers, caring for urgent and emergent head and neck conditions. His work combines high-volume clinical experience, academic training, and a patient-centered approach to surgical decision-making, with particular emphasis on safety, function, and quality-of-life outcomes.
