Anthony Dapoz Jr., MS, is a medical student at the UT Health San Antonio Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine with a strong interest in otolaryngology—head and neck surgery. Originally from The Woodlands, Texas, he earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry with a minor in business from Southwestern University and a master’s degree in clinical research management from the University of North Texas Health Science Center. He previously served as president of his institution’s ENT Student Interest Group. His research focuses on residency trends following the single accreditation system, mental health outcomes in patients with head and neck benign neoplasms, sudden sensorineural hearing loss, and genetic influences on wound healing in facial reconstructive surgery. Outside of medicine, he enjoys hiking in the Appalachians, cooking new dishes, especially Italian desserts, and playing the clarinet.
