Katherine Wai is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at UCSF, specializing in head and neck surgical oncology. She earned her MD from UCSF in 2017, completed her otolaryngology residency there in 2022, and then pursued a fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at Stanford in 2023. Her research spans tumor microenvironments, immunotherapy outcomes, and biomarkers in head and neck cancers. Dr. Wai is a member of UCSF’s Cancer Center Program (Cancer Immunology & Immunotherapy). She cares for patients at UCSF Health and treats salivary gland tumors, tongue cancer, and other complex head and neck malignancies.
