Abdulghafoor Alani, BS, is a fourth-year medical student at Central Michigan University and a previous Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery Research Fellow at Thomas Jefferson University. Born in Baghdad, Iraq, he attended Loyola University Chicago, where he graduated summa cum laude majoring in Psychology. Prior to medical school, he supported refugee families and worked in an otolaryngology clinic. During his medical training, he has contributed to rhinology and head and neck cancer research. In his free time, Alani enjoys reading, lifting weights, running, and playing basketball.
