This session will overview of the ideal incisions for each type of BAI in patients with microtia and atresia who have not yet had their ear reconstructed. Reviewing ideal placement of implants, whether costal cartilage or porous polyethylene is planned for reconstruction, we will discuss the surgical details to decrease what places the future reconstruction at risk.

1. Review the options for hearing implants in patients with Microtia and Atresia
2. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of implantation before ear reconstruction
3. Review safe implantation locations, incisions and review surgical considerations if implantation is done before ear reconstruction.
