Attendees can expect an interactive, case-based session featuring real-world clinical scenarios. Through audience polling and panel discussion, participants will explore decision points where practice varies, including adjusting oncologic treatment for ototoxicity, timing and candidacy for implantable hearing devices after radiation, challenges in surveillance imaging, and management of auditory neuropathy or central pathway dysfunction. The session will provide practical strategies for monitoring, rehabilitating, and coordinating care for patients at risk of neuro-ototoxicity, with a focus on multidisciplinary collaboration, evidence-based guidelines, and age-appropriate interventions.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion, participants will be able to describe how platinum-based chemotherapeutics, cranial/head–neck radiation, and neuropathy impact the cochlea, auditory nerve, and central auditory pathways in adults and children.
Upon completion, participants will be able to implement age-appropriate, guideline-based audiologic and neuropathy monitoring protocols during and after treatment, including baseline and longitudinal follow-up.
Upon completion, participants will be able to select and appropriately time hearing and neural rehabilitation options—including hearing aids, remote microphones, bone conduction devices, and cochlear implants—considering oncologic, anatomic, and imaging constraints.
