Design, Build, and Use It! a Crash Course and Guide to Device Innovation (2026)

Participants will be introduced to key subject areas through an interactive format which will include: 1) problem-based ideas versus technocentric ideas, 2) building your team, 3) design recommendations, 4) basics of patents/intellectual property and licensing strategies, 5) basic corporate structure and governance, 6) funding/investor considerations, 7) updated information on regulatory pathways, 8) how Total Product Lifecycle and innovation intersect, 9) strategies underlying the development and launch of a device, and 10) organizational structures (e.g. LLC, C-Corp, and others). Concepts specific to health disparities, and how this relates to innovation, will be discussed.
