Dr. Melody Ouyoung is the Manager of the Speech Pathology Department at Keck Medical Center of USC in Los Angeles, CA, USA. At USC, she has established excellent voice and swallowing programs. She has specialized in treating head and neck cancer patients with early intervention for both speech and swallowing disorders with positive clinical outcomes. She published ABCLOVE: Voice therapy outcomes for patients with head and neck cancer in 2015.
Melody is one of the few bilingual (Chinese/English) Pathologists in the United States. She has a wide range of clinical skills for treating a variety of patients, with excellent clinical outcomes. She has published 4 books in Chinese on speech and language delay, voice disorders, and swallowing disorders. Melody is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the California Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She has also conducted workshops in the US, India, China, Taiwan, the Netherlands, Germany, and Hong Kong, and trained rehab doctors, nurses, special education teachers, and speech pathologists both locally and internationally. Melody’s best wish is to pass on her clinical skills to more clinicians.
