Medical Student
NYU Grossman School of Medicine
New York, NY, United States
Jonathan L. Katzman, BA, is an MD/MSCI candidate at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and a student researcher in the Department of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery at NYU Langone Health. He received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College, where he studied History and Economics, and subsequently worked in clinical outcomes research with the Department of Orthopedics at NYU Langone before beginning medical school.
Jonathan is interested in head and neck cancer and the use of large datasets to improve patient selection and treatment planning. His current research focuses on neoadjuvant immunotherapy and chemoimmunotherapy for head and neck cancer. At NYU Langone, he works with the Department of Otolaryngology and multidisciplinary collaborators in medical oncology and pathology to study outcomes among patients receiving neoadjuvant regimens prior to surgery.
He is concurrently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation and was selected for a T32 training grant focused on machine learning and generative artificial intelligence in healthcare. Through this training, he hopes to build expertise in applying data science, artificial intelligence, and outcomes research methods to make advances in otolaryngology.
Outside of medicine, Jonathan loves to ski, listen to the Grateful Dead, and watch the New York Knicks.
