Austin Cao is a fourth year medical student at the University of Pennsylvania planning to pursue a career in otorhinolaryngology. Originally from Wisconsin, he attended Rice University where he completed a BA in Chemistry and served as an advanced EMT. At Penn, he volunteers as a lead patient navigator for the Center for Surgical Health, coordinator for the University City Hospitality Coalition medical clinic, President of the ENT Interest Group, and a near-peer mentor for MS1/2s. His research interests include improving health-related quality-of-life in surgical patients, and he is pursuing certificates in Clinical Research and Academic Surgery. In his free time, Austin enjoys tennis, photography, and finding underrated restaurants in Philadelphia.
