Dr. Banuchi is an Otolaryngologist-Head and Neck Surgeon specializing in the management of benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck. She completed her medical degree at Columbia University and a Master's in Public Health degree at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health. Dr. Banuchi completed her residency training in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center the University Hospitals of Columbia and Cornell.
Subsequently she completed advanced fellowship training in Head and Neck/Cranial Base Surgery at the New York Head and Neck Institute. She is now an Associate Professor at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Among her interests are thyroid and parathyroid surgery for the management if beign and malignant diseases of the thyroid. Her research interests are minimally invasive image guided pricedure for management of head and neck endocrine pathology as well as remote access approaches to thyroid and parathyroid surgery.
She has published articles and book chapters in the field of Head and Neck Oncology, Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Endocrine Surgery. In addition she has presented her research at national and international conferences including the American Thyroid Association, the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Otolaryngology, among others. She is an active member at the Academy of Otolaryngology, American College of Surgeons, American Thyroid Association and American Head and Neck Society among others. She currently serves in the committee fordiversity and women in otolaryngology at the American Academy of Otolaryngology as well as the nominations committee at the American Thyroid Association.
