Valerie Flanary, MD, FACS, is a Professor with Tenure, Department of Otolaryngology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She is a Fellowship-trained, Board-certified Pediatric Otolaryngologist in Complex Pediatric Otolaryngology and has been in practice at MCW since 1994. Dr. Flanary is a Fellow of the Triological Society as well as the American College of Surgeons. She is a member of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology, SENTAC, and the Society of University Otolaryngologists. She has served various leadership roles in the AAOHNS, including Chair, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Chair, WIO Awards Committee, Chair, Women in Otolaryngology Section, and Governing Board of WIO. She is past Vice President, Middle Section, Triological Society. She served as Member at Large, Academic, on the AAO-HNS Board. She also serves as the Director of Knowledge Force Initiatives at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Her current practice includes all aspects of Pediatric Otolaryngology. Her research interests include health disparities, tonsil and adenoid disease, and education. She has served as a mentor and sponsor to aspiring medical students, residents, fellows, and otolaryngologists.
