Alaina Vidmar, MD is an Associate Professor in Pediatric Endocrinology, a Board-Certified Pediatric Obesity Medicine Specialist, and the Director of Obesity Medicine and Bariatric Surgery at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Dr. Vidmar received her medical degree and completed her residency in Pediatrics at the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. She completed her fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Dr. Vidmar’s primary research goal is to develop innovative, equitable treatment strategies for pediatric patients with severe obesity and related comorbidities, particularly those from underserved communities. Aiming to mitigate life-limiting complications, her work centers on: 1) investigating pediatric chronobiology, especially how time-restricted eating interventions can be leveraged to treat pediatric obesity; 2) improving patient outcomes through multi-modal approaches that integrate obesity pharmacotherapy and bariatric surgery; and 3) leveraging continuous glucose monitors as a tool for behavioral interventions.
