Section Chief, Pediatric Otolaryngology; Adult and Pediatric Implant Surgeon
Lehigh Valley Health Network Pediatric Otolaryngology
I am a pediatric otolaryngologist with a clinical practice centered on airway disorders, hearing loss, and cochlear implantation. Over the past several years, my work has expanded to include adult cochlear implantation, a transition that grew naturally from caring for children with complex hearing needs and following those patients and families as they age. This experience highlighted how the principles of pediatric ENT—precision, communication, family‑centered care, and comfort with complex anatomy—translate seamlessly into adult CI surgery.
My current focus is on building a streamlined, lifespan‑based cochlear implant pathway within a community‑based children’s hospital system. This includes developing protocols that support safe adult CI care, improving access for patients who might otherwise need to travel to tertiary centers, and strengthening continuity for families who prefer to remain within a familiar care environment. My poster reflects this journey and the opportunities that arise when pediatric ENT surgeons broaden their scope to meet adult CI needs.
