Varun Pasapula is a third-year medical student at the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso. He received a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with Honors, summa cum laude, from the University of Texas at Dallas. His research interests include pediatric otolaryngology, with published work on pediatric adenotonsillectomy trends. His ongoing projects examine vestibular dysfunction in adults with substance use disorder and congenital cytomegalovirus screening along the U.S.-Mexico border. His work has appeared in The Laryngoscope and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and he has presented at meetings of the Triological Society. He is the founder of the first Otolaryngology Interest Group at the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine and a student member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
