Hoang Bui-Nguyen, MD, PhD is a PGY-4 resident in the Harvard Combined Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery Residency Program, based at Massachusetts Eye and Ear and the Mass General Brigham hospital system.
Originally from Nha Trang, Vietnam, Dr. Bui-Nguyen earned his undergraduate degree in biology from Cornell University, graduating magna cum laude and being inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He went on to complete his MD and PhD at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was the inaugural recipient of the Jeffrey Myers Family Fund for Surgical Oncology.
Dr. Bui-Nguyen's research spans a broad spectrum of high-impact basic and translational science. His work has been published in Nature, Cell, and Science. Currently, his research focuses on elucidating molecular mechanisms underlying resistance to immunotherapy and investigating the role of non-coding RNAs in head and neck cancer. In recognition of his work, he was recently awarded multiple CORE grants to support his ongoing investigations.
