Medical Student
Georgetown University School of Medicine
Ramapoza "Rama" O'Dwyer, BSN, RN, is a fourth-year medical student at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. His previous experience as a registered nurse has shaped his approach to medicine and strengthened his commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Rama has a strong interest in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery and plans to pursue residency training in the specialty. He has been actively involved in clinical research, with projects focusing on obstructive sleep apnea, pediatric oropharyngeal trauma, and HPV vaccination.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Rama is committed to mentorship, service, and expanding access to healthcare. He volunteers as a registered nurse at federally qualified health centers throughout Northern Virginia, providing care to patients with limited access to medical services.
He also serves as President of Georgetown University's chapter of Black Men in White Coats, where he mentors students interested in careers in medicine. In addition, he is President of The Krebs Cyclers, Georgetown's medical student cycling club, where he organizes group rides and promotes physical activity and wellness among medical students.
Through his research, leadership, and clinical training, Rama hopes to advance evidence-based care in otolaryngology while mentoring and supporting the next generation of physicians.
