I am Ching-Nung Wu, Associate Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology at Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan. My clinical practice centers on ear surgery and otology, where I focus on restoring hearing and managing diseases of the external, middle, and inner ear. This otologic focus also extends to rare ear-related malignancies, such as external auditory canal cancer, bridging my surgical expertise with a long-standing interest in oncologic outcomes.
Having earned a Ph.D. in Public Health, I bring refined skills in utilizing real-world databases to evaluate healthcare outcomes. Building on my background in head and neck oncology, my doctoral research examined the comparative effectiveness of proton versus photon therapy in nasopharyngeal carcinoma, systematically assessing treatment outcomes across life expectancy, quality of life, and cost-effectiveness.
My approach integrates advanced statistical methods to dissect complex datasets, ensuring robust and actionable findings that contribute to evidence-based clinical practice. Whether in the operating room or in research, my work emphasizes optimizing therapeutic strategies to enhance patient-centered outcomes—aligning surgical excellence in otology with contemporary goals in evidence-based medicine and healthcare economics.
