My name is Makenzie Abshire. I'm a current fourth year medical student at Louisiana State University Health Shreveport applying to Otolaryngology this application cycle. Originally from south Louisiana, I completed my bachelors degree of Biology at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette on 2023. I have a background working with children and adults with intelelctual and devolpmental disabilites which fueled my desire of bridging the gap between current functional status and desired goals. My current reaerch interests include investigating access to care and the barriers that socioeconomic status present for patients.
