David Z. Allen, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at New York Medical College/Westchester Medical Center. He specializes in head and neck oncologic surgery with a clinical focus on thyroid and parathyroid surgery, endocrine surgery, head and neck cancer, oral cavity surgery, transoral robotic surgery, neck dissection, and sinonasal surgery.
Dr. Allen earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, completed residency in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and completed fellowship training in head and neck endocrine surgery at Emory University.
His academic interests include aggressive thyroid and salivary malignancies, endocrine oncology, treatment resistance, survivorship outcomes, and global otolaryngology. He has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications, received research awards and grant funding, and has contributed to global surgery initiatives in the Philippines and Rwanda. At New York Medical College, he is developing a clinical and research program focused on endocrine/head and neck oncology, collaborative translational research, and global ENT initiatives.
