Michael Oca, MAS, is a medical student at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine, where he recently completed a dedicated research year as an ACTRI MedGap Research Fellow in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Rady Children's Hospital. His research focuses on pediatric otolaryngology, facial nerve regeneration, and head and neck oncology, and he is currently applying to otolaryngology residency with the goal of becoming an academic surgeon-scientist. Outside the lab, he can be found surfing, fishing, and running along the California coast.
