Daniel R. S. Habib, MD, is a resident in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at UCLA Medical Center. He earned his M.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in May 2026. His research has focused on cochlear implant patient experiences, head and neck cancer free flap reconstruction, surgical outcomes following neoadjuvant immunotherapy, and surgical consent form language. In addition, he has studied surgical and patient-facing technology, worked as a consultant for Merge Medical Device Studio, and developed AI-driven tools for medical record abstraction in clinical trials. As founder of KairoSys Applied Intelligence, Dr. Habib led the development of an AI platform with a team of software engineers to improve the efficiency and patient-centeredness of medical device design by synthesizing user feedback, regulatory reports, and patent data into actionable insights. He has also volunteered as a student clinician and coordinator at Shade Tree Free Clinic, served as a health educator for previously incarcerated individuals, and mentored children affected by gun violence.
Throughout his medical journey, Dr. Habib aspires to continue becoming a better person through each of his patients while spearheading surgical outcomes research, medical technology innovation, and advocacy for equitable healthcare and patients’ rights.
