Dr. Anupam Mishra, MBBS, MS, DNB, DCP(NIH), FACS, FAMS, is a Consultant Otolaryngologist and Professor & Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology & Head and Neck Surgery at King George Medical University, Lucknow, India.
With over 25 years of academic otolaryngological experience, Dr. Mishra has established himself as a distinguished physician-scientist with expertise spanning otology, rhinology, laryngology, and head and neck surgery. He is recognized internationally for pioneering clinical research on olfaction, skull base surgery, and juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma (JNA). He initiated the first olfactory clinical research program in India in collaboration with the University of Pennsylvania and introduced the novel transorbital approach to infratemporal fossa—a technique now referenced in world literature.
Dr. Mishra is a prolific researcher with over 85 peer-reviewed publications in indexed journals including Laryngoscope, Journal of Laryngology and Otology, and American Journal of Otolaryngology. He has authored a textbook on otolaryngology and multiple book chapters. His research interests encompass molecular signatures of JNA, hearing conservation, and health policy for neglected ear diseases.
An accomplished clinician-educator, Dr. Mishra has trained numerous postgraduate students and serves as an external examiner for MBBS and MS programs at 30+ universities across India and Nepal. He has received numerous honors, including inclusion in "Who's Who in the World" (2011–2012).
Dr. Mishra has held prestigious fellowships including ICMR International Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania and UICC/ACSBI Fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He serves as vice-chairman of the Expert Group on Otolaryngology for national guidelines on treatment workflows under India's Ayushman Bharat scheme and is an expert member of the National Health Authority. His contributions to medical education and public health policy have been nationally recognized, making him a leading figure in otolaryngology in India.
