Aalim Khaderi is a medical student at the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine with interests in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery and neurosurgery. Before medical school, he completed a post-baccalaureate research fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, where he investigated stem cell–based regenerative therapies for radiation-induced salivary gland dysfunction and helped develop the first human salivary gland biobank to advance translational head and neck cancer research. He earned his bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in neuroscience from Davidson College in North Carolina, where he studied optic nerve regeneration in a developmental neurobiology laboratory. He currently conducts clinical research in the Departments of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and Neurosurgery at Loyola University Medical Center, with a focus on surgical outcomes and quality improvement.
