There are now at least 3 different types of Xll nerve stimulators for treatment of OSA. The patient selection, surgical procedure, efficacy, complications, disease severity, and post op management, varies for all three. Deciding which therapy is appropriate for which patient is a complex algorithm.
The panel is discussing the merits and issues with each implant, provide individual patient vignettes for understanding the decision making process, and discuss appropriate therapy for patients and how they come that conclusion. They will also discuss further needs for investigation in the field. .
