Attendees will learn a practical, case-based approach to septal perforation management and repair, focused on mucosal flap closure and symptom optimization. Through representative cases spanning common etiologies and complexity, we will review evaluation and risk stratification (symptoms, size/location, tissue quality, inflammatory disease), procedure selection, and counseling to align expectations. The session will highlight reproducible operative pearls—atraumatic flap elevation, tension-free closure, reliable intranasal suturing, and postoperative stabilization—to improve closure reliability, reduce complications, and enhance patient-reported outcomes.
Learning Objectives:
Apply a structured framework to evaluate septal perforations and risk-stratify patients for management and repair.
Identify key factors that drive procedure selection for septal perforations (symptoms, size/location, tissue quality, etiology, and concomitant conditions).
Describe a reliable mucosal flap closure framework for septal perforations and the technical skills necessary to execute it successfully.
