This panel will explore real world otologic pitfalls and near miss cases involving challenges in diagnosis, imaging, and patient management. Expert faculty will review commonly missed or over-diagnosed otologic conditions, highlight frequently overlooked temporal bone imaging findings, and share concrete technical advice to avoid common intraoperative issues. Hoofbeats are usually horses, not zebras, but you also don’t want to forget about deer or sheep. Through case-based discussion, participants will gain practical strategies to improve diagnostic accuracy, strengthen radiologic assessment, and avoid common pitfalls in otologic surgery.
